FCA and CRF form partnership to fund master in self-driving technology

Training a new generation of #automotive industry experts is the objective of the second level university master in Autonomous Driving and Enabling Technologies (ADBoT) offered by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the University of Trento, for which registrations are open until 19 April.
Resulting from the #partnership with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and #crf (the Group's research centre) and the Trento-based Bruno Kessler Foundation, the master will provide participants with the elements they need to design and develop smart systems for connected and autonomous vehicles, the engineering challenge now beginning to be faced by the global car market.
The one-year course starting on 20 May will be taught in English and take place at the University of Trento, involving 1,500 hours of lessons and training. The scholarships provided will allow participants to achieve 60 CFUs (university training credits), which are recognized and can be used throughout the European Union. Registrations will close on Friday 19 April with twenty places available, intended for holders of a master's degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Science and Materials Engineering, Aerospace and Astronautical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
These are highly qualified future professionals, suited to working on the design and development of intelligent systems for connected and autonomous vehicles.
FCA and the #crf have decided to support this master's degree programme as it provides an important opportunity to acquire precise skills in a field that will be increasingly strategic for the car. It is essential for engineers who are beginning to work in the #automotive sector today to complement their conventional mechanical training with new knowledge: from artificial intelligence to machine learning, from cybersecurity to sensor fusion.
