Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Stuttgart/Hamburg. The world's best #dota2 teams will compete on 28 and 29 October for prize money of one million US dollars in the first major of the new season at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. As an international partner of #esl, #mercedesbenz will be represented at the location. The #partnership with the world's largest esports company can thus for the first time be experienced live at #esl One in Hamburg. #mercedesbenz will feature in the stadium communications, the live broadcast and on social media. For the first time, the best player at the tournament, the so-called "MVP" (Most Valuable Player), will receive a #mercedesbenz of their choice as an additional prize. The best player will be decided by the fans and a panel of judges.

Hamburg will be firmly in the grip of esports during the weekend. Over 10,000 visitors are expected at #esl One, with millions of fans following the games by live stream. Currently the eight best #dota2 teams in the world will compete against each other – including the "The International" champions from Team Liquid around the German player Kuro "KuroKy" Takhasomi.

As an international premium partner of #esl One, #mercedesbenz is sponsoring the #event and will provide various models of compact car, each with their own individual design, for the film clips to introduce all the teams. To guarantee the teams maximum mobility at the location, #mercedesbenz will also provide the teams with a shuttle service at the tournament. "Of course, this will be a highlight for the players, it upgrades the entire #event while gradually bringing professional players to the same level as traditional sports professionals," says Ralf Reichert, CEO of #esl. "Mercedes-Benz as a partner is making an ideal contribution to our young sport. On the one hand, through its attractive mobility offerings and, on the other, through special #event highlights such as the MVP Award and the Analyst Truck." For the first time, the experts from #esl will broadcast their comments between the individual games from an Analyst Truck from #mercedesbenz. This will be positioned directly at the Arena in Hamburg and will serve as an area for presenters and analysts. The Grow Up Roadshow container offers fans on site an insde into the world of #mercedesbenz due to product experiences and gaming stations.

Genuine integration of experiences

Alongside the Team Cars and the Analyst Truck, social media will also be activated, such as by interactive fan voting for the MVP and the Live-Tournament-Bracket, which shows the upcoming games. Furthermore, the drafting of #dota2 characters will be named after and presented by #mercedesbenz. "Our involvement in esports offers us as a brand an exceptionally dynamic and lively #event platform from which to reach a new, predominantly young target group. Esports lives from a strong community identity that can be experienced not only digitally, but also in sold-out arenas. It is the expression of an entire generation. A generation that is important to #mercedesbenz, not just since yesterday, and a generation we wish to authentically encounter at #esl One in Hamburg," says Dr. Jens Thiemer, Vice President Marketing #mercedesbenz Cars.

Mercedes-Benz model for the best player at the tournament

A unique special feature of the #partnership is the joint MVP format: The best player at the entire tournament will win a new #mercedesbenz car worth 50,000 euros (gross list price). The fans, among others, will decide who receives this prize. They will vote live and decide on the MVP along with a panel of judges made up of commentators and analysts at #esl One in Hamburg.
