Starting the second edition of the international conference Florence heri-tech: the future of heritage science and technologies


The Registration for the 2nd Edition of the International Conference & Expo #florenceheritech: the Future of Heritage #science and Technology opens on May 15, 2019. The Conference, dedicated to innovative technologies for Art, Restoration and Cultural Heritage, Main Event of the VII Edition of the Florence Art and Restoration Fair, will be held from 13 to 15 May 2020 at Villa Vittoria, Palazzo dei Congressi Florence.

The Conference, organized by the Florence Art and Restoration Fair and by the DIEF, Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Florence, benefits of an International Technical Committee and publication and publication of the proceedings thanks to IOP Publishing UK, which indexes articles on the main search engines: ISI Web of #science, Scopus, Ei Compendex.

Moreover, thanks to the contemporaneity with an important event such as the Florence Art and Restoration Fair, the 2nd Edition of the Conference will give the possibility to all the speakers, not only to present the projects to an international audience, but to exhibit their own work with a stand in the expo area of the fair in order to create a real matching between scientific research, university departments and companies in the sector. Through a scheduled agenda it will be possible to participate in BtoB and meetings organized in order to exchange ideas, contacts and create new projects.

The new edition adds three new areas of interest: EVIRONMENT AND CULTURAL HERITAGE, SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE and SPECIAL SESSION: EUROPEAN FUNDS FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE, which complete the areas of the first edition MATERIALS #science, DIAGNOSTIC AND MONITORING, ICT AND DIGITAL HERITAGE, ENGINEERING, adding three current and innovative fields of research.

We recall the numbers of the first edition of the Conference which gathered the adhesions of more than 170 participants including institutions, universities, museums, companies and research centers from all over the world such as China, Japan, Spain, Czech Republic, Germany, England , Portugal, Austria; 112 contributions published by IOP Publishing, 3 plenary sessions with the participation of the MIBAC, the Italian Universities and International Speakers, 9 parallel sessions and the presentation of 5 European Projects.

For the 2020 edition the organizers expect greater participation, in addition to important collaborations with the Polytechnic Universities, in order to give more value to the innovative start-ups that deal with Cultural Heritage, and a direct link with the European Commission and the Horizon projects 2020.

The Conference is open to all Universities, Departments, Researchers, Students, Companies that deal with innovative projects that link technologies to Art, Restoration and Cultural Heritage and to all those who wish to stay up to date on the new frontiers of Cultural Heritage. The conference is open to the public.
