"My Ami Play": a clever innovation to facilitate Ami's on-board connectivity

Citroën is simplifying on-board life by introducing “My Ami Play”, an innovative solution now available via the My Citroën #app, offering a new menu of useful and essential functions that are simple and intuitive to use, specially designed for smartphones and with a clever activation control button called “Citroën Switch” which can be positioned on the steering wheel arches either on the right or on the left.
Launched by Ami, “My Ami Play” features a single-page display of several functions frequently used by the customer on their smartphone, such as navigation, music, radio and phone. Once connected with the smartphone via Bluetooth, “Citroën Switch” allows the driver to access these functions directly without taking their eyes off the road and to then control them either by touch or voice recognition.
This device amplifies the on-board connectivity experience for even greater practicality, ergonomics, safety and well-being. A clever solution, regularly enhanced by smartphone updates, perfectly in line with the spirit of Ami and which will be standard on most of its versions as well as available as an accessory on misterauto.com and in the Citroën Ami network from today.

Citroën Ami is the first vehicle in the Citroën range to feature “My Ami Play”, a new solution offering a connected on-board experience and easy access to all essential infotainment features to ensure a sociable atmosphere in the passenger compartment.

The principle is simple: one button – the “Citroën Switch” – positioned on the steering wheel arches to suit the customer, allows them to connect their smartphone via Bluetooth and then activate the My Citroën #app and its new “My Ami Play” page, combining all the customer’s favourite functions. This enables them to control their smartphone more easily, either by touch or voice recognition.

THE “CITROËN SWITCH”: AN INGENIOUS SOLUTION TO FACILITATE ACCESS TO KEY FUNCTIONS

Ami’s interior space has been optimised to guarantee a high level of practicality for the driver and their passenger. One of its interior design objectives was to come up with passenger compartment storage tailored to the objects that everyone carries with them for their daily needs. A console and clamp have therefore been specifically created to hold a smartphone, which becomes Ami’s touchscreen, allowing the driver to use their favourite driving-compatible apps (navigation, music, etc.).

To further improve Ami’s on-board experience, Citroën has invented a brand-new visible and useful accessory: the “Citroën Switch”. Like all functions in Ami’s passenger compartment, this steering-wheel control is intuitive and eye-catching with its distinctive orange colour, matching the door straps. A simple touch now allows the driver to display the “My Ami Play” menu and its associated functions. For greater safety, the driver no longer needs to divert their attention from the road and there are no trailing wires: the “Citroën Switch” is automatically connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth.

The driver has the choice of positioning the “Citroën Switch” wherever they choose on the steering wheel, to ensure they are as comfortable as possible when pressing the button. The button can also be placed on the dashboard if the customer prefers. A thought for left-handed people, who may sometimes be inconvenienced by controls traditionally positioned on the right in left-hand drive cars: with the “Citroën Switch”, they will finally be able to choose the best location within reach of their left hand.

Tested and approved by selected customers, this small, round accessory is described as “a useful innovation, very easy to use for relaxed and reassuring driving”. “This intuitive and ergonomic Home button is a real advantage for a smoother experience”, allowing quick and safe access to practical as well as leisure functions.

“MY AMI PLAY”: A UNIQUE SOLUTION FOR NAVIGATION, COMMUNICATION AND LISTENING TO YOUR FAVOURITE MUSIC EASILY AND STRESS-FREE

Pressing the button activates Bluetooth communication between the “Citroën Switch” and the “My Citroën” #app, which displays “My Ami Play” on the smartphone screen – a menu with four sections containing the apps previously saved by the driver and the built-in radio:

The “Nav” section allows the driver to view the features of the chosen navigation #app, such as Waze, Google Maps, Apple Plan, etc., directly on their screen. There are no more updating problems as it is done automatically via the smartphone.
It is possible to make and receive calls easily using the “Call” function, by accessing the list of favourite contacts or address book, among other things.
The “Media” section provides access to a range of music apps from those available, such as Deezer or Apple Music, etc., to provide the soundtrack to your journeys with Ami. This solution, combined with the portable Ami Bluetooth speaker, which slots into its special space on the dashboard, will satisfy music lovers thanks to the powerful and immersive sound which fills the passenger compartment 360°.
“Radio” is now built into the “My Ami Play” #app, making it much easier to switch between stations.
