Mercedes-Benz is one of the first #automotive manufacturers to provide #software developers with access to its own #MercedesBenz Mobile #sdk (SDK = #software Development Kit).
The goal is to enrich the Mercedes me offering with additional external services to create an even better customer experience.
The #MercedesBenz Mobile #sdk is a kind of tool kit for simplified #software development. It gives developers access to various programming interfaces to the vehicle. These can provide information, for example, on the current fuel level or on the mileage driven.

"STOP TALKING – START HACKING" - this was the slogan under which, from 10 to 11 September,
Mercedes-Benz staged a 24-hour hackathon at the IAA in Frankfurt in the rooms of the me Convention.
Using the #MercedesBenz Mobile #sdk, over 60 young developers in 12 teams developed new Mercedes services for Mercedes me customers.
All the participants applied in advance to be part of the IAA Hackathon via the #MercedesBenz developers’ platform https://developer.mercedes-benz.com/hackiaa/.
At the end of the 24 hours (which started on Tuesday morning, 10 September at 11 am), the ideas were pitched to a panel of judges consisting of Martin Zimmermann (After Sales #MercedesBenz as well as Head of Customer, Retail and Data Platform & Digital Business #MercedesBenz Cars), Georges Massing (Development Digital Vehicle & Mobility, #MercedesBenz Cars), Sabine Scheunert (IT #MercedesBenz Sales), Harald Rudolph (Strategy Daimler) and Daniel Manzke (Vice President Studio finleap).
Afterwards, Britta Seeger (Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for #MercedesBenz Cars Sales & Marketing) and Sajjad Khan (Executive Vice President, Member of the Divisional Board of Management of #MercedesBenz Cars, CASE) presented the prizes, including a #MercedesBenz A-Class, to the winning teams.
