A Special Message from Ideum about COVID-19

For 20 years, our company has adapted to change and persevered. With the world facing a pandemic, we are committed to moving forward while ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff and their families, our clients and partners, and our community.
At this challenging time, our thoughts focus on those most personally affected by the crisis, including first responders, health care workers, and others who are working hard to keep all of us safe. We also support the decision of many of our museum partners to close their public facilities. We know this is difficult, both financially and emotionally. Many of us have worked at museums and we know how important these institutions are to our communities.
With these thoughts in mind, we want to say that while #ideum remains open for business, we are changing the way we are conducting it while the crisis continues.
Like many of our clients and partners, we have instituted a travel ban and are limiting face-to-face gatherings and meetings. We’ve adopted new cleaning procedures and health policies to ensure safety in all of our facilities. In our Creative Services group, we are instituting a work-at-home policy, allowing many of our designers, developers, and producers to stay connected while working remotely. During this period, we will use a wide variety of telepresence tools to facilitate communication between ourselves and our clients, whether they are at work or at home.
We are still receiving orders and shipping touch tables and touch displays. We prepared our supply chains early in this crisis, and all of our hardware models are currently available. We know that our hardware is frequently used for situational awareness, scientific visualization, and other activities that are important to our global response. Therefore, we are expediting GSA orders along with direct orders from health care organizations, first responders, or government agencies.
We will not be renting our touch tables for public events until further notice. We will still rent tables for non-public use, such as prototyping and development. We’ve also put together advice for cleaning touch tables and displays.
For the time being, we have limited our engagement with the local community and are not allowing large groups to visit our facilities. We are following procedures and directives from the New Mexico Department of Health, the Office of the Governor, and local municipalities. We have also temporarily suspended our Technology for Our Community program for most applications. However, if local organizations or agencies request our hardware to specifically address issues surrounding the Coronavirus outbreak, we will expedite those requests.
We want to thank all of our partners, clients, and customers who are continuing to work with us in these challenging times. Our staff and their families appreciate it. We are committed to emerging from this crisis together—and stronger than ever.
