Sleep Learning Technology
At CES 2021, #itri is presenting its Sleep Learning Technology (SLT) featuring Wi-Fi radar communications to improve memory and learning during sleep. During rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, the device emits red light to help the user enter deeper sleep more quickly. Once in deep sleep, the light turns off and the device plays audio learning material to boost memory recall, enhance memory consolidation and improve learning.
Technology Breakthroughs and Features:
- Provides a contactless solution for sleep phase detection and learning reinforcement.
- Uses recurrent neural network (RNN)-based Wi-Fi channel state information (CSI) technology to identify sleep stages by detecting a sleeping person’s breathing cycles and body movement frequency.
- Features red light therapy and automatic light intensity adjustments to promote the secretion of melatonin, which improves sleep quality and increases the proportion of deep sleep.
