SHIFTx: Future mobility in a groundbreaking new format

This year SHIFTx will be celebrated as a mixed reality convention which extends to the next level of presenting topics, brands and products. On September 2nd and 3rd SHIFTx will be in Berlin – a festival of ideas and a digital global platform. The #event will be streamed worldwide, registration is available online.

“Combining the topics of #mobility, digitization, connectivity, sustainability and smart city in an intelligent way creates something new and inspiring - and that is exactly what the market needs right now”, says Hans H. Hamer, CEO #shiftmobility, who has positioned #shiftmobility, the annual IFA-powered conference that focuses on next-gen transportation, as the up-and-coming brand over the past couple of years.

From a mixed reality studio in the German capital, SHIFTx will visit creative brands, forward thinkers, and innovative startups. and operate simultaneously as a physical and digital global #event. SHIFTx is Zeitgeist and agenda-setter and will be entitled “mobility meets tech” – several topics will be in the spotlight in 2021:

Sustainable Mobility

The end of the combustion engine is near. On the road to zero emission more and more carmakers are committing themselves to electric vehicles. But how fast can e-mobility do the trick? How can we speed up the process? "The transition to renewable energy and #mobility is bigger than the Industrial Revolution“, says Auke Hoekstra, Founder of ZenMo Simulations, one of the renowned speakers at the first Session at SHIFTx. Others like Scott Wingo (Get Spiffy), Johann Jungwirth (Mobileye) and Andreas Löschel (Rhine-University Bochum) will join the discussion.

New Urbanism

What will the city of the future look like: connected, smart and digital or does it have to stay “dumb” in certain fields to gain resilience? How will #mobility be integrated into the cities and the life of future generations? Among others, Jan Toschka (Shell), Andrew DeWit (Rikkyo University, Tokyo), Karina Ricks (City of Pittsburgh) and Robert Kohrs (Fraunhofer ISE) will give answers to these questions during the second session of SHIFTx.

Renewable Energy

Do we need other options in addition to electric vehicles to reach our goals towards carbon neutrality? Not only on the road and track, but also on water and in the air? Do we really need Hydrogen, sustainable fuels or biofuels in our future #mobility or is it just too expensive? Experts like Peter Gutzmer (Ex-CEO Schaeffler) and Ralf Diemer (eFuel Alliance) will give insights.

New Dimensions of Mobility

How does the future #mobility ecosystem look like? Who are the significant game changers and disruptors? Do we still need to own a car, or will multimodality give us the options to fulfill our everyday #mobility needs? What are the alternatives to transport as we know it? Andreas Nienhaus (Oliver Wyman), Alain Visser (Lynk&Co) or Boyd Cohen (Iomob) will share their ideas. These and other questions will be discussed in different panels during this session of SHIFTx. The #mobility magazine „ellectric“ is hosting the session “elle is driving a new perspective” with speakers like Telma Negreiros (Lynk&Co) and Imogen Pierce (arrival) joining Britta Reineke (ellectric) on stage.

Design and Mobility

Design is shaping the future of #mobility with surprising perspectives, groundbreaking architecture and smart materials. Paolo Tumminelli (Designer) invites Kirsty Dias (PriestmanGoode), Lapo Elkann (Garage Italia) and Shannon E. Thomas (VanMoof) on stage to discuss about the key role of design.
