Bosch Professional 18V System saves time, space, and money
As Wilfried Beckel, Johannes Vorholt, and Reinhold Winkler drive in the morning to their jobsite in Horstmar, Germany, two questions no longer come to mind: Which battery to use with which tool? Which charger to use with which battery? For all their cordless tools are now powered by a single power source: a battery from the Bosch Professional 18V System. For these specialist tradesmen from Maue Wohnbau GmbH, the days of sorting through piles of incompatible batteries and chargers are over – saving them time, space, and money. The key? The Bosch Professional 18V System is compatible even with tools from numerous expert brands, making it easier and more flexible for tradespeople to use the same batteries with specialist products such as floodlights, caulk guns, cordless hydraulic cutting tools, and even UV lights that reliably disinfect surfaces against, for example, the coronavirus. Thanks to partnerships with Brennenstuhl, Cox Sulzer, Fein, Heraeus, Klauke, Ledlenser, Lena Lighting, Sonlux and Wagner, Bosch Professional is facilitating an ever-wider range of applications that is going far beyond its own tool portfolio. And the list keeps growing: The Professional 18V System is set to expand to even more tools from even more expert brands in the future.
Let there be light
Work starts early in the bungalow with bonding tasks in the eaves, under the roof. Wilfried Beckel secures and seals the damp-proof membrane to the roof laths in no time, thanks to the cordless Cox Sulzer cartridge system, which is running on the Bosch 5.0 Ah Professional battery. “It's much faster and much easier to bond corners and tight spaces than with a manual caulk gun,” says Wilfried Beckel. He next uses the same battery with the Bosch GST 18V-LI S Professional jigsaw to trim the roof laths to the right length. On the floor sits his main source of light, a Brennenstuhl Professional Line LED floodlight, also running on a Bosch battery.
Saving time, space, and money – a crucial advantage
Daniel Maue, manager of Maue Wohnbau GmbH, is satisfied with the progress of the work. “We facilitate turnkey construction with stakeholders and bring together different trades on our building sites such as ventilation, heating, drywall construction, bricklaying, roof-tiling, window and door construction, carpentry, as well as sanitation, floor finishing, plastering and painting work,” explains Daniel Maue. “It’s a major advantage and saves us lots of time, space, and money to have a single source of power for all our tools.” He particularly values the backward compatibility of the Bosch Professional 18V System: All new and existing tools and batteries dating back to 2008 are fully compatible, making it possible to simply continue using the existing range of tools. Even specialist tools such as the Klauke ES1 05 CFB hydraulic cutting tool are compatible with the battery platform, making them pay off faster than ever – another advantage which sits very well with the company’s efficient and multi-trade approach.
Quicker and easier because it all fits
Reinhold Winkler uses the Bosch Biturbo GKS 18V-68 GC Professional cordless circular saw to cut plywood sheets to size for some interior paneling. For power-intensive jobs such as sawing, the team opts for Biturbo tools and ProCore18V batteries, Bosch Professional’s most powerful cordless tool and battery series. The saw’s high-performance brushless motor is optimally matched with the tool’s electronics and the battery. This combination fully extracts maximum power from the recommended ProCore18V batteries, which are outfitted with latest cell technology and efficient temperature management. All batteries of all strengths are charged with currently the fastest 18V charger worldwide, the GAL 18V-160 C Professional. In power boost mode, the ProCore18V 8.0Ah Professional battery charges up to 50 percent in just 15 minutes.
Johannes Vorholt has plugged a ProCore18V 12.0 Ah battery into the Bosch Biturbo GBH 18V-45 C Professional cordless rotary hammer. Before the base sewage pipe can be laid, the projecting foundation needs to be removed. Thanks to Biturbo and ProCore18V technology, the cordless rotary hammer is as powerful as an equivalent corded tool and the work is completed in no time. Johannes Vorholt then quickly trims the pipes to the right length with the Bosch GSA 18 V-LI C Professional cordless reciprocating saw. At the same time, Reinhold Winkler plugs a ProCore18V 8.0 Ah battery into a Bosch Biturbo GWX 18V-15 SC Professional angle grinder and cuts two other projecting reinforcement rods to length. “It’s all much faster. We no longer must think about which battery to use with which tool. We can simply switch between tools and batteries based on the task at hand.” Ultimately, all three professionals agree: The Professional 18V System really makes tough work easier.
